Park Expansion > New Albany, Ohio
Park Expansion > New Albany, Ohio
Overview
New Albany, Ohio has grown rapidly from a small, outlying town to a vibrant suburb of Columbus. Key to this growth is the expansion of the villageÍs primary athletic facility, Bevelhymer Park. Pizzuti was chosen to work with New Albany-Plain Local Joint Parks to expand the park into a 53-acre multi-use athletic facility and park. Pizzuti was named OwnerÍs Representative and Project Manager for the expansion and went straight to work developing the Conceptual Plan for the project and financial structuring for the parks agency.
Results
Pizzuti created a plan to phase in the expansion to have minimal interference with athletic schedules between August 2005 and August 2006. The expansion of the park includes the construction of four football/lacrosse fields, nine soccer fields, four baseball diamonds, playgrounds, volleyball courts, numerous concession and park shelters, park maintenance facilities and storage facilities, tennis courts, a skate board park, bicycle and walking trails and a signature water feature.
