Overview
The Franklin County Commissioners were looking for a way to replace an aging courthouse and to serve as anchor for the surrounding neighborhood. Pizzuti Solutions recognized an opportunity to use the new courthouse complex as a catalyst to key the redevelopment of the southern edges of downtown Columbus.
Results
As Owner?s Representative, Pizzuti Solutions is working with a team of experts from around the country to oversee design and construction of the $100 million-plus project. The Pizzuti Solutions team is developing a district master plan and selecting a team that includes subject matter experts in the design and construction of a 'modern expression of a traditional courthouse.'

MASTER PLAN TO GUIDE FUTURE OF COUNTY COMPLEX
[8/16/2007] Today, County Commissioners announced the completion of the Franklin County Government Center Facilities Master Plan which provides a strategic vision for county-owned facilities, including the soon-to-be-built new county courthouse.



New Franklin County Courthouse Groundbreaking
[7/3/2007] The Franklin County Commissioners along with the Pizzuti Solutions' team will break ground on the $105 million New Franklin County Courthouse today, July 3, 2007.




Master planning nears completion
[5/18/2007] Franklin County Courthouse
Master planning activities are nearing completion and conceptual design is in progress for the new Franklin County Courthouse, to be located on High Street immediately north of the county’s current courts facility.

Groundbreaking on the $100 million courts facility is expected in July.


Eco-Charrette Begins Process Toward LEED Certification
[11/1/2006] Master Planning is in progress for the new Franklin County Courthouse, to be located on High Street immediately north of the county’s current courts facility.

Pizzuti Solutions, in its role as owner’s representative, has been coordinating meetings with stakeholders to ensure the new courts facility meets the current and future needs of the courts community and county residents.

An Eco-Charrette was held in late October as part of the planning process to achieve a sustainable, environmentally friendly design for the new courthouse.
