These partnerships include working with municipalities and government agencies to create comprehensive development plans that combine public and private investments as well as ownership in areas of need. Most recently, Joel worked with the City of Toledo to construct a master development agreement to create a new Downtown Marina District including retail, multifamily and a public sports/entertainment arena. Joel worked closely with the City of Toledo, the Toledo Port Authority and Lucus County to structure an agreement that involved the participation of all three public entities along side The Pizzuti Companies.
Joel continues to serve in a dual role as executive vice president of The Pizzuti Companies.
